Bibra Lake is a warehousing suburb, which suits a business that sells hardware as well as installing it, and the corridor it serves runs from Fremantle down through Cockburn.

Unisol’s NETCC entry covers solar PV, EV charging, energy storage, energy management and virtual power plants, which matters more in 2026 than it did two years ago: the WA Residential Battery Scheme requires households to join a VPP to qualify for the rebate, and not every installer is set up for that. A clean 5.0 across 152 reviews is a solid, mature record rather than a small sample. Head office is 6 Bitton Street in Hamilton Hill, confirmed both on the register and on Google, which puts them a few minutes from Fremantle, Beaconsfield and the northern half of Cockburn. Approved under the current code from July 2025, so the listing is recent rather than legacy.

One thing worth knowing: a separate New South Wales business trading under a similar name appears next to this one on the register. The WA entry is the one with the Leeming address and a region of operation listed as Western Australia only, and that is the business ranked here.

We have ordered them by the number the formula produced and we are telling you plainly that the order carries no information. What separates them is shape rather than quality: Talk Energy holds 4.8 across 337 reviews, a large sample with a high average, from an office at 16 Ogilvie Road in Mount Pleasant that the register confirms as its head office. That is a river-side commercial pocket on the Melville side, closer to Applecross and Booragoon than to Fremantle. Approved under the current code from June 2025.

The other half of that dead heat, arriving at almost the identical weighted score from the opposite direction: a perfect 5.0, but across 86 reviews rather than 337. Eighty-six is comfortably past the point where a rating is meaningful, so this is a genuine record and not a handful of friendly reviews. Trading as SolarKings on Google and registered as Solar Kings (WA) Pty Ltd with NETCC, the business is based at 5/7 Blaikie Street in Myaree, an address that appears identically in both places. Myaree is central to the City of Melville and roughly equidistant from Fremantle, Booragoon and the Cockburn boundary, which makes it a reasonable call from anywhere in this corridor.

Six operators cleared both tests, and several with strong records did not. Infinity Electrical & Solar (4.9 across 121 reviews, 5/21 Emplacement Crescent, Hamilton Hill) is the closest miss: it passes the credential gate outright, approved from 17 July 2025 with the register address matching its Google pin, and it is cut on the weighted score alone, by about a hundredth. It is the first name in if any of the six above drops out, and we would put it on a shortlist without hesitation. DMG Solar (5.0 across 219) surfaces in Melville searches but its Maps place page gives 60 Matison Street, Southern River — well outside this corridor and closer to our Canning Vale page. Green Energy WA (5.0 across 34, Calley Drive) has no entry on the NETCC register under that name, so it fails the gate. Solahart Fremantle (4.1 across 14) falls below our 4.3 rating floor. Willo Electrical (5.0 across 70), Sunny Day Solar Service (5.0 across 44), Eclipse Energy Solutions (5.0 across 35), Regen Power and Reliance Solar Services publish no verifiable street address, and an address we cannot check is not a local business as far as this ranking is concerned. Solar Harness (4.4 across 25, Bibra Lake), Great Aussie Electrical (5.0 across 18, Prinsep Road), Ultimate Solar Power (4.8 across 17, Kishorn Road), SolarMate WA (5.0 across 15) and Passion Electricals and Solar (5.0 across 13) are real local businesses whose samples are simply too small to outrank the six above. Positive Energy Solutions and Solaire Connect appear in these searches as nearby results but are based in Osborne Park and Landsdale and are ranked on our northern pages instead. Melville Future Solar, Ford & Doonan Solar, MLEC Solar and Perth Solar Direct – Cockburn carry no qualifying review record at this address.
How we ranked them, and what we could not check
The credential filter runs before the star rating, and the register we use is not the one you would expect. Western Australia’s Online Licence Search will confirm an electrical contractor’s licence, but it searches by licence number only, exact match, and no WA solar retailer publishes its EC number on its website. Per-business licence lookup from public data is therefore not possible, and we will not imply we did it.
- The NETCC Approved Seller register is what we can actually verify. It is name-searchable, it is authorised by the ACCC, it is administered by the Clean Energy Council, and it returns a signatory date, a region of operation, the technology types the seller is approved for, and a head-office street address. Every business ranked above was found there by name on 7 September 2026, and the address it returned was checked against the Google listing.
- Where the register and the Google pin disagree, the register wins. A register entry is a formal declaration by the business. A map pin can be a shared desk, a service area or an old address that nobody updated. That rule cut a well-reviewed operator from this page.
- The weighted score. We weight each business’s average against a site-wide baseline, with the weight increasing as the review count grows, so three perfect reviews cannot outrank three hundred good ones. It also means that once two businesses both have large samples, the average decides — which is why positions five and six landed two ten-thousandths apart, and why we said so instead of pretending the order meant something.
- What being on the register does not tell you. NETCC approval is a consumer-protection code covering sales conduct, contracts, warranties and complaints. It is not a licence and it is not an installation-quality inspection. It is the strongest signal available from public data, not a guarantee.
- We did not verify individual installer accreditation. The person who physically installs your system must hold Solar Accreditation Australia accreditation as well as an unrestricted WA electrical licence. That is a per-person credential, not a per-business one, and you should ask for it by name before you sign.
The schemes that change what a system costs in 2026
We do not publish a price table for solar in Western Australia, because we have no verified pricing to publish and inventing a range would be worse than useless. What we can give you is the current set of schemes, each checked against the regulator that runs it, because between them they move the number far more than any quote comparison will. The practical effect of that last row is that a system size which used to require a non-standard connection application may now go through as standard, and the practical effect of the first two is that a battery is a materially different proposition in 2026 than it was in 2024. Both are worth raising explicitly when you ask for quotes, because an installer who cannot explain the VPP requirement or the Region B setting is telling you something about how current their practice is.
What to check before you sign
- Ask for the installer’s SAA accreditation number, not just the company’s. The accreditation belongs to a person. The salesperson who quotes you is not necessarily the person who climbs on the roof.
- Ask who holds the electrical contractor’s licence, and confirm the work will be done under it. Installing grid-connected solar PV is electrical installing work in Western Australia and must be done under a licence issued by Building and Energy.
- If you want the battery rebate, confirm the vendor is on the approved-vendor list and can enrol you in a VPP. The rebate is claimed by the vendor, not by you, so a vendor who is not on the list cannot get it for you at all.
- Get the export limit and inverter settings in writing. Under the current requirements your installer configures remote disconnect and reconnect capability, or applies an export limit, at installation. That should be on the paperwork, not a verbal assurance.
- Check the warranty split. Panels, inverter and workmanship are usually three separate warranties with three different terms and three different parties standing behind them. Ask which one covers a fault that appears in year six.
Common questions
Do I need an accredited installer, or just a licensed electrician?
Both, and they are different things. The electrical work has to be done under a Western Australian electrical licence issued by Building and Energy, because installing grid-connected solar PV is electrical installing work. Separately, if the system is to attract small-scale technology certificates, the person who designs and installs it must be accredited by Solar Accreditation Australia, which has been the sole national accreditation body since 2024. The Clean Energy Regulator also requires accredited installers to hold an unrestricted electrical licence in the state where the installation happens, so in practice the two requirements sit on top of each other.
Is being on the NETCC register the same as being licensed?
No, and it is worth being clear about it. The New Energy Tech Consumer Code is a voluntary, ACCC-authorised code covering how a seller behaves: sales conduct, contract terms, warranties, deposits and complaint handling. Signing it says a business has committed to those standards and can be held to them. It says nothing directly about electrical licensing or installation quality. We use it as the gate because it is the only national register that can actually be searched by business name, and because it returns a declared street address, which doubles as locality proof.
Why is there no price table on this page?
Because we do not have verified Western Australian pricing and we are not willing to publish a made-up range. Solar quotes move with panel and inverter prices, with the value of small-scale technology certificates, with system size and with roof complexity, and a number invented for the sake of having a number would mislead you more than the blank space does. The schemes table above is the honest version of the same information: it tells you what changes the price and who sets each one, so you can check the current figures at the source.
Can I add a battery to solar panels I already have?
Usually yes, though Energy Policy WA notes it may require additional equipment or a reconfiguration of the existing system, and there is specific guidance for customers in that position. Two things to watch. Adding a battery counts as a system upgrade, which can change which buyback scheme you are on. And the WA Residential Battery Scheme rebate is only available for batteries installed from 1 July 2025 onward, with virtual power plant participation as a condition, so an older installation does not qualify retrospectively.
Positions five and six are almost identical — how should I read that?
As a tie, and we would rather say so than dress it up. Talk Energy holds 4.8 across 337 reviews and Solar Kings holds 5.0 across 86, and the weighting brings them to within two ten-thousandths of each other. Neither ordering is defensible on the data. The same applies more loosely at the top: positions one and two are separated by less than seven hundredths, and with 612 and 969 reviews behind them respectively, both numbers are reliable. Treat the top two as a pair and the bottom two as a pair, and choose on availability, quoted equipment and how well each answers the questions in the section above.
