We assessed 14 solar businesses across Mandurah, Madora Bay, Halls Head, Dawesville, Stake Hill, Pinjarra and the wider Peel region. Four are approved under the New Energy Tech Consumer Code and can be placed at a verifiable address in the region. The single biggest review record in Peel is not one of them, and we explain exactly why below, because in a market this size the reasoning matters more than the list.

A 4.9 across 272 reviews is the strongest combination of rating and volume anywhere in the Peel region, and it is not close. One thing to know if you go looking for them on the register: they trade as JFK Energy but are listed under their full company name, JFK Electrical, Solar & Air, approved since February 2021 under the predecessor ACCC-authorised code, covering solar PV, energy storage and EV charging across Western Australia. The registered head office is 36A Kulin Road, Mandurah, the same premises as the Google pin. A code history running back to 2021 in a region this small tells you the business has been through several rounds of rule changes without dropping out, which is exactly the quality you want when a warranty claim lands four years from now.

An unbroken 5.0 across 99 reviews, which is the cleanest record of that size we have seen in the trade outside the Cockburn corridor. Two caveats, both stated plainly. First, there is no street address on the Google listing, only a phone number; we ranked this business on its New Energy Tech Consumer Code entry, which records a head office at 109 Cowcher Road, North Dandalup, approved 20 June 2025 for solar PV, energy storage and EV charging in Western Australia. Second, North Dandalup is inland Peel, not coastal Mandurah — roughly half an hour from the estuary. If you are in Dawesville or Falcon, ask about travel before you assume a site visit is straightforward. Positions two and three on this page are 0.015 apart, which is close enough that you should treat them as level and choose on availability.

The most local of the four, and the register address and the map pin agree exactly: 99 Eleanore Drive, Madora Bay, approved 23 April 2025 for solar PV, energy storage and EV charging, Western Australia only. Madora Bay sits between Mandurah and Singleton, so this is a genuinely coastal-Peel operator rather than a metro business servicing south. A 5.0 across 88 reviews is a strong record, though the code approval is recent enough that there is less history to read than with JFK. Watch for the name confusion when you search: the register also carries an unrelated eastern-states business called Homewyse, based in Silverwater, New South Wales, which has nothing to do with this one.

Included with a caveat we want you to read before you call. Seven reviews is a very thin record — it clears our minimum but only just, and a 4.4 average over seven reviews carries almost no statistical weight. What earns the place is the credential side: the longest code history on this page, a signatory since April 2019 under the predecessor scheme, and the only Peel operator whose register listing covers energy management as well as solar PV, storage and EV charging. Energy management is the category that covers virtual power plant work, and VPP participation is now a condition of the WA battery rebate. Google files this business as a “solar hot water system supplier”, which is the miscategorisation trap this trade is full of; the register is explicit that they are approved for solar PV. Get a quote, but read all seven reviews first.

Dodds Electrical & Air holds 4.9 across 852 Google reviews from 5/6 Dollyup Street, Stake Hill, inside the City of Mandurah. That is more than three times the review volume of anyone we ranked and it would have taken first place comfortably on the numbers alone. It returns no match on the New Energy Tech Consumer Code register, searched by business name and by suburb, with a known-good control search run in the same session to rule out a broken query. So it does not clear our credential gate and it is not ranked. To be clear about what that does and does not mean: it is a cut on code membership, which is voluntary, not a finding about the quality of anyone’s work. If you are getting quotes in Mandurah you may well want theirs in the pile — just be aware that the code’s dispute resolution and cooling-off protections do not come with it, and ask them directly about accreditation and licensing.
Who else we cut, and why
S.P.B. Energy Solutions 5.0 from 45 reviews at 43 Bookleaf Loop, Halls Head, and Zasco Electrical 4.8 from 15 at 15 Woolah Place, South Yunderup, are both real local businesses at real addresses with no register match under any spelling we tried. Re-check next cycle. iBreeze shows 4.8 from 116 reviews on one listing and different figures on two others, publishes no street address, and matches nothing on the register — the duplicate-listing problem in miniature. SEM Solar 5.0 from 61, Passmore Energy 5.0 from 11 and WA Off-grid Solar 5.0 from 5 publish no verifiable address. ARK Air & Solar 4.8 from 53 is an air conditioning contractor by its own place-page category. Solar Pump Sales in Waroona sells solar pumping equipment, not rooftop PV systems. Solar Panels Mandurah has four reviews and no address. Solahart Rockingham, Always Solar and Green Sun Solutions surface in Mandurah searches but belong to our Rockingham and Kwinana page, where they are ranked.
What actually changed for WA households this year
Two things happened in 2026 that matter more to your quote than any brand of panel, and plenty of installers are still quoting as though neither had. Ask about both before you sign.
- The WA Residential Battery Scheme is open and your installer claims it, not you. Synergy customers can get up to $1,300 off an eligible battery and Horizon Power customers up to $3,800. Combined with the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, the WA Government says total support can come close to $5,000 to $7,500. The approved vendor claims the rebate and passes it through, so it should appear as a visible line on your quote. If it does not, ask why.
- Virtual power plant participation is a condition, not an option. To qualify for the state rebate your household has to join a VPP, which lets network managers draw small amounts of your stored energy during peak demand events. Credits are attached, but understand the arrangement before the battery is on the wall.
- An interest-free loan sits alongside the rebate. Loans of $2,001 to $10,000 are available through Plenti, over three to ten years, no interest and no early repayment fee, for households with gross income under $210,000. The loan can also cover a new or upgraded inverter and panels, provided they go in with a battery.
- From 1 May 2026 the technical rules changed, and adding a battery counts as a change. Energy Policy WA’s requirements apply to inverter energy systems installed or upgraded on or after that date — and adding a home battery or a second inverter is an upgrade. An existing system you do not touch is unaffected.
- The upside is more headroom. The Standard Small User Facility category now covers connections below 1,000 volts with aggregate distributed energy capacity of 30 kVA or less, single or three phase, well past the old 5 kVA ceiling. Systems must be set to AS/NZS 4777.2 “Australian Region B” settings at installation and complete capability testing on the day.
- Poor internet is not a blocker, and it matters more out here. Systems on an export product such as DEBS must be capable of remote disconnection and reconnection. If you would rather not participate, or your site cannot hold a stable internet connection — a live question on rural blocks around Pinjarra and North Dandalup — the system is instead set to a standard 1.5 kW export limit and the remote disconnection requirements do not apply. Older inverters that cannot communicate can be brought into line with a gateway.

We do not publish an installed-price table for solar in Western Australia, because we have no way to verify current prices and a made-up range would be worse than none. One thing worth saying plainly, because it changes how you should read a quote: the buyback scheme is deliberately designed so that using your own power is worth more than selling it. That is the whole logic behind the battery rebate arriving when it did. An installer still selling you on export income rather than self-consumption is quoting to a scheme that stopped existing in 2020.
How we ranked this page
- The credential check runs before the review score, and it is the New Energy Tech Consumer Code register. WA’s own electrical licence search works by licence number only, and no solar retailer publishes its number, so per-operator licence lookup is impossible from public data. The code register is name-searchable, ACCC-authorised and returns street addresses.
- We search the register by suburb as well as by business name. That is how JFK Energy stayed on this page: their registered name is JFK Electrical, Solar & Air, and a search on the trading name alone returned nothing. Any ranking that skips this step will quietly drop good operators.
- We run a known-good control search in every register session. If a business we have already confirmed does not come back, the widget is broken and every negative result from that session is discarded. We caught exactly that failure while building this page.
- Weighted score, not raw rating. We blend the operator’s rating toward a 4.5 baseline in proportion to review volume, so a 5.0 from a handful of reviews cannot leapfrog a 4.9 from hundreds. Floor: 4.3 rating and a real review history.
- We never widen the region to reach a target number of names, and we never quietly drop a big record. Dodds Electrical is named and explained rather than omitted.
Questions we get asked
Is the code register the same thing as a licence? Should I care that Dodds is not on it?
No, they are different things, and the distinction is worth understanding. Under the Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991, electrical work in Western Australia must be carried out by someone holding the relevant electrical licence, and a business trading as an electrical contractor needs a contractor’s licence, which requires a current WA electrician’s licence in the business and civil liability insurance. That is mandatory law. The New Energy Tech Consumer Code is voluntary and ACCC-authorised: signatories commit to specified sales, quoting, installation and dispute-resolution standards on top of the legal minimum. A business can be entirely licensed and legal without being on the register. We use the register as our filter because it is the only credential we can actually verify by name from public data, and because the extra consumer protections are real. It is a filter, not a verdict.
Why is a North Dandalup business on a Mandurah page?
Because this page covers the Peel region, not just the City of Mandurah, and North Dandalup sits in the Shire of Murray inside Peel. We have flagged the distance in the card because it is a practical consideration rather than a technicality — if you are on the coast at Falcon or Dawesville, a North Dandalup base means a longer trip for a site visit or a warranty callout. We would rather tell you that than bury it. The alternative was to draw a tighter boundary and rank three names, which would have hidden a genuinely strong operator from readers who live inland.
Only four names, and one has seven reviews. Is that really the whole market?
It is the whole market that meets our two tests. We assessed 14 businesses, and the shortfall is not for lack of operators, it is that Peel has an unusual concentration of solar businesses trading with a phone number and no published address, and a low rate of code membership. Solahart Mandurah is included on a thin review record because its credential position is the strongest on the page, and we have said openly that seven reviews carries almost no weight. If you want a fifth quote, S.P.B. Energy Solutions at Halls Head and Dodds Electrical at Stake Hill are the two we would look at next, with the credential caveat attached to both.
Does a battery make sense if I already have panels from years ago?
It might, but check one thing first. Adding a home battery counts as an upgrade under the rules that took effect on 1 May 2026, which means your system comes under the current Standard Small User Facility requirements rather than staying on the settings it was installed with. That is usually to your advantage, since the aggregate capacity allowance is far more generous than the old limit. It also means your installer has work to do beyond mounting a box on the wall, including capability testing at installation and possibly a gateway if your existing inverter cannot communicate. Ask for that to be itemised on the quote.
Should I wait for a better rebate before buying?
We cannot tell you what to do with your money, and nobody knows what the next state budget holds. What is documented today: the state battery rebate is open now, it stacks with the federal program, batteries installed before 1 July 2025 are not eligible for it, and the technical requirements changed on 1 May 2026 in a way that gives new systems substantially more capacity headroom. Get at least three quotes, confirm each installer’s position on the code register, and make sure the rebate appears as a visible line item rather than a vague promise of savings.
