Del’s Automotive Service Centre in North Perth

Del’s Automotive Service Centre Pty Ltd is a general mechanical workshop at 1 Auckland St, North Perth WA 6006. People searching for Del’s Autos or Del’s Automotive are usually after the same thing: a local mechanic for a logbook service, a brake job or a pre-purchase inspection without paying dealership rates. Here is what is worth knowing before you book any independent workshop in Perth.

A logbook service will not void your new car warranty

Plenty of drivers stay at the dealer because they think they have to. You do not. You can have your logbook service done by any qualified workshop, as long as the work follows the manufacturer schedule, uses parts of equivalent quality, and the service book is stamped with the date, the odometer reading and what was done. Keep every invoice. If a warranty claim ever comes up, that paperwork is your evidence.

What to ask before you hand over the keys

• Get a written quote, and ask them to ring you before doing anything on top of it.
• Ask whether oil, filters and disposal are in the price or land on the invoice later.
• On brakes, ask pads only or pads and rotors, and whether the rotors are being machined or replaced.
• Ask for the old parts back if you want them. A workshop with nothing to hide will not blink.
• Check the business is a licensed motor vehicle repairer. In WA that is required under the Motor Vehicle Repairers Act 2003 and you can check it through Consumer Protection WA.

Getting to the workshop

Auckland St runs just off Charles St, so North Perth is a short trip from Mount Lawley, Leederville, Highgate, Mount Hawthorn and the CBD. If you are leaving the car for the day, the Charles St bus routes will get you back into town without a second car.
